The role of  General Maintenance Assistant will be based at the first of our  Mayfield retirement villages in Watford.Mayfield Watford is part of a buzzing residential neighbourhood which includes facilities such as a shop, Bar and bistro, leisure club and a beautiful riverside park. 

Mayfield villages comprises of owners, who permanently reside on site within their own private homes and who pay a management fee for the upkeep of their properties and access to services on site. In addition the village hosts external customers and this role is responsible for providing a first class, positive experience for all.

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will perform a range of general and ground maintenance duties to a consistently high level and assist the Maintenance Manager with daily maintenance, meeting the standards required by our owners and the business.

The role of General Maintenance Assistant is to maintain property condition and quality and to ensure the building and grounds are kept in a safe working condition. Understanding the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment meeting the standards required by the owners on our sites and the business.

The Ideal Candidate:

• General maintenance experience.
• Having good all-round technical knowledge and experience of general trades and a practical disposition.
• Gardening experience. (desirable)
• Problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety working practices, COSHH, RIDDOR etc.
• Working as part of a team or alone when needed.
• Pool plant operator’s knowledge. (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
